Samanà tour 07/11 to 14/11

Hey Lads

Between hopeless surfing lessons and Papaja (my best fruit) the full second week arrived. But this time we decided to move .
Always leaded by Marcos we rent a car by Tony's friend (3600 pesos per 4 days) with the idea of touring Samanà peninsula , nearly 2 and half hours driving from Cabarete on the north east coast.
At 10 o`clock on the 11th of november,we were driving our jeep, with merengue at full blast with 32 degrees outside.

First stop is a place called "Laguna Gry Gry". There we met our guide who took us all around the place and followed us to the restaurant (we ate Lobster, mini lobster, prawns, and some other fish i didn't know for only 10 euro) for lunch.

Fish here is something amazing ...

The second stop got to a place called "Las Terrenas" a little village on the beach where everyday, early in the morning, the fishermen come from the see to sell every kind of fish. We had a plesant stay there. Our hotel (50 dollars per room) has all the conforts free wi-fi, bbq and also a nice cool swimming pool just infront of hour balcony.

In the afternoon we met Marcos' cousin Alfonso. He came with the quad to pick us up, under a tropical storm, and took us at his beautiful place: a nice Hawaian style apartment close to the ocean. There we met all his amazing family.
By dinner we joined in order to celebrate his girlfriend'birthday. Goooood Paella guys.

The following morninmg we packed all the stuffs to make way tothe third stop: "Cascada el limon".
Is a remote place in the middle of the jungle. By a chance we asked for the direction to a Motoconcho (Moto taxy) who actually manages the guides  to the waterfalls. He personally took us to the place where we left the car and went on horseback riding ... actually muleback riding on a narrow, steep, wet, stony road to the waterfall. Thanks God, Paloma and Juan are well trained for haevy peoples.

Once arrived at the waterfall it was magic, the only pity is that, despite the rain, that place was full of tourist, but i could't resist from having a bath. It was like in the Amazon ...

The wayback was a little scary cause the heavy rain turned the path into a river. The two guys who followed us all the time grabbed a fruit from the chocolate tree... it was incredible, very nice.

In the afternoon we got to Samanà. Our objective is Cajo Levantado's island and its white sand!
We found a guy who runs with boats from the mainland to the small pier of Cajo Levantado for 1500 pesos, and when we got there, for 300 pesos we got a Piña colada (Served in a real pineapple with pineapple bits) and cocoloco (served in a real water coconuts). Guys i can't explane you how amazing those two cocktail were, really, the best cocktail i've ever drunk, and the best i will ever drink!

And what a fish we ate... oh my God!

The same guy of the boat took us to a cheap (but ugly) hotel in the town of Samanà. After a shower we went out for a beer at a small bar near the pier . After have been chating for a while with two lovely local girls, we met them again at the disco, and i can tell that they know how to dance! But it was just to learn ...

The last day of the journey was birthday ! we went for a long trip on boat along the gulf of Samanà.

The only problem was the storm that caught us on boat in the middle of the gulf. It wasn't scary but i can say that heavy rain and big waves made our trip "Special".

And for lunch we got back to Cajo Levantado,  we ate the same amazing fish and we drunk the same amazing drinks!

It has been a very beautiful day guys, and on the way back to the mainland those dolphins put the cherry on the top of my birthday cake:).

Remember! If you come to Dominican republic and to rent a car, never ever drive by night guys! No light along the streets, all the cars drive with the long light and don't put them down when you come across, Moto and scooter don't use light so you cant't see them till you run them over! Mateo had a lot of trubles that night and when we finally got to cabarete, went to sleep straight away!

End of the week.
